Plans for a 24-metre wind turbine in Starston have been approved by South Norfolk Council.

Set for land at White House Farm, in Cross Road, the revised application was submitted in November.

In August a bid for a 34-metre turbine at the same location, close to the border of the parishes of Starston and Pulham St Mary, was submitted to the council by agent Green Power Solutions UK, but was subsequently withdrawn at the end of October.

It its conclusion, South Norfolk Council said: “The revised siting of this turbine together with the distance from neighbouring properties has reduced the impact of the proposal on the historic assets of the immediate area to an acceptable level.

“The harm to the surrounding landscape is not considered to result in such harm to justify refusal.”
