Preparations are complete for this year’s Attleborough Summer Carnival and Party on the Park, which take place this weekend.
Saturday will see the Recreational Ground on Thieves Road play host to Party on the Park, with the headline act being ‘Special Kinda Madness’; a Madness tribute band.
Other acts on the Saturday include James Robb and The Desert Sleds.
On Sunday there is the Summer Carnival which will see a procession go through the streets of Attleborough before arriving at the Recreational Ground.
The weekend of activities has taken a long time to organise but Sam Aghabi, one of the organisers, is happy that everything is ready to go.
“The preparations for this year’s Attleborough Summer Carnival and Party on the Park have gone really well. It has been very busy but we feel prepared.”
“We have some very generous local businesses that have sponsored the event and it is looking to be a fantastic weekend. As long as the weather is kind to us we are hoping to build on the success of last years event,” said Mr Aghabi.
The Carnival Queen as well as the Prince and Princess have been selected following a competition.
“We recently held our Carnival Rose Queen and Prince & Princess competitions. The winners from these were Tyler Barker as Carnival Rose Queen, eight-year-old Owen Stewart as Carnival Prince and eight-year-old Kaci Thorpe as Carnival Princess.
“We had a total of seven entries for the Rose Queen competition and an enormous 25 entries for the Prince and Princess competitions.”
The winners will be riding in style on Sunday.
“They will be riding in a limousine at the front of this year’s carnival procession which will leave Fairfields Estate at 12:30pm.”
The Sunday will have a range of entertainment with mountain bike stunt team M.A.D, a display from ‘Out On A Wing Falconry’ and a range of dancers and singers.
Entry on Saturday is available from 5.30pm. Admission for adults is £5, children £3 and under 10s free.
On Sunday, gates open at 12.30pm with tickets £3 for adults, £1 for children and under 10s again free.
