Five employees at Hughes Electrical in Diss have spent the last 23 days growing moustaches to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health - specifically prostate and testicular cancer.

Branch manager Barry Abbott along with Chris Strike, Greg Morford, James Highland and Nick Boast have signed up to Movember - the annual, month-long event which sees thousands of men growing taches throughout November.

The team, who have just one more week until they can be free of their facial fuzz, are taking part for the first time.

Mr Abbott, said: “All of us felt that it’s a subject that is ignored a great deal. There is a lot of discussion about the cancers that affect women and they are screened and tested but it’s something that men don’t discuss and we thought by growing our moustaches it would lead to discussions with our friends and family.

“We also have a lot of regular customers and they have enjoyed coming in and seeing our faces changing.”

And of course the men have been taking part in a challenge of their own to see who could grow a moustache the quickest and the best.

The team hope to raise as much money as possible and have been collecting through a Movember donation box on the counter. Anyone who would like to support them can visit the store in Victoria Road.
