Pupils at Stradbroke Primary School have been marking the start of the First World War by planting poppy seeds with members of the local branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL).

Stradbroke and District RBL member Alan King (pictured left) and Ted Bootle, branch president, joined (from left) Amy Keeble, Seth Kingdom and Nathan Griffiths, along with around 100 other pupils from the school, in popping the balloons.

Michael Burton, branch chairman, said: “That is what we aim for - for younger people to know about us, in order to help us in the future.”
