Pupils at All Saints School, Winfarthing, are very excited by the project to build them a new sports hall.
It means that at long last the school will have its own multi-use hall, which will not just be used for PE, but for assemblies, school meals and meetings, productions and assemblies.
The school now has some 68 primary pupils and the current hall is too limited.
Some of the youngsters even have to bring packed lunches and use classrooms at lunchtime.
Karen Pearce, school business manager, said the new facility, to be funded by the local authority and the Diocese, would be a fantastic addition to the school.
It forms part of the school development which a few years ago saw planning permission given for a new classroom and cloakroom.
Work started on the sports hall at the beginning of the Autumn term and is expected to be completed in March 2014.
Last week pupils from the School Council presented the builders, Gills, with a time capsule to bury in the foundations of the new hall.
Items included were a school newsletter, photographs, some book marks made for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee last year, names of all the children on roll and a school lunch menu from the day the time capsule was buried.
All Saints, is linked to St Andrews at Lopham.
Next month will see them linked to Hapton and all three will come under head of Louise Norgate.
