Sainsbury’s celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight with Attleborough pupils
Sainsbury’s celebrated Fairtrade Fortnight with Attleborough Junior School last week.
Shelley Johnson, of the store, visited the school to talk to Year 4 pupils about the work Sainsbury’s is doing with Fairtrade across the world.
The talk was in conjunction with Fairtrade Fortnight which runs from February 25 until Sunday.
Sainsbury’s was one of the first supermarkets to sell Fairtrade products 16 years ago. Since their customers began buying Fairtrade products, they have helped thousands of individual farmers become sustainable and profitable.
Fairtrade products that the Attleborough branch sells, including one of their top selling lines, the banana, were taken into the school and the branch donated 352 bananas for the whole school to take with them on their cultural trip to London this week.
