Celebrating 50 years of marriage today are Bryan and Joy Hanner, of Harleston.
They have spent their lives in south Norfolk, meeting for the first time at Spooner Row Youth Club.
They married about four years later, at Hempnall Methodist Church in 1964, with a reception at Hardwick Village Hall.
Still the romantic, Mr Hanner sends his wife a bunch of red roses every year on the anniversary of when they first met.
Mr Hanner will be known as the captain of Harleston Cricket Club for many years, while both are known for being caretakers at Starston Village Hall and as active members of the Starston church community.
They have two daughters, Melonie and Cheryl, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
