Recycling cooking fats

South Norfolk Council is urging residents to recycle their Christmas cooking fats to prevent sink and sewer blockages, bad smells and pollution.

The council has used cooking oil banks at car parks at Weavers Court, Diss; Budgens in Harleston; Swan Lane Co-op, Long Stratton; and Wymondham’s Back Lane.

In 2013, the council helped residents recycle over 3000 litres of cooking fats and oils. It was made into biodiesel.
