Diss community group the Heywood Joggers is once again hosting the Mere Mile as part the nationwide Sainsbury’s Sport Relief 2014 weekend.
The Diss running event will take place at The Pavilion next to the Mere, on Sunday, March 23. Setting off from the Mere’s Mouth, there will be a two-lap, one-mile course around the town centre.
The event is aimed at attracting families of all abilities and ages.
A three or six-mile course will also be available and people will be able to don their trainers knowing money raised will help to change the lives of people across the UK and in some the world’s poorest countries.
The event opens at 9.30am at the Pavilion next to the Mere and is due to finish at noon.
Diss Town Mayor, Neil Howard will get the first runners on their way at 10am.
It is advised to enter early for this event as numbers are limited to 150 participants.
There is no entry on the day. To enter go to: www.sportrelief.com. Those not running are welcome to visit on the day and cheer on the participants.
