In reply to L Roberts’ letter (Your Letters, May 16) about buy-to-let investors I would like to say I can see where he or she is coming from, but there is always another side to the coin.
My grandson cannot afford a mortgage on his wages.
He has lived and worked in Diss all his life, as have all my family.
But that seems to count for nothing when applying for a council house, as he has been turned down numerous times, so all that is left for him is to rent privately.
So where would the likes of my grandson and his family live without the buy-to-let investor?
It is just a vicious circle as things stand.
