Pupils have fun with books
Wilby, Suffolk. Julia Jarman visiting Wilby Primary School as part of World Book day with Nursery, Reception and Year 1 pupils
Pupils at Wilby Primary School enjoyed a visit from prolific children’s writer Julia Jarmen (pictured) on Monday as part of celebrations for World Book Day which takes place on March 7.
The author spent the day introducing the children to her works and leading writing workshops with them.
Pupils dressed up as their favourite book characters and parents were invited to join in the fun. The children also took part in a sponsored read to raise funds to develop reading resources in the school.
Julia Jarmen’s Class Two series, The Big Red Bath/Tub Collection, the time-travelling Cat Series and her Jessame stories were looked at and the theme of travel and journeys in her books was explored.
