Post Office services returned to Eye on Wednesday following weeks of closure.
The branch, in Broad Street, will be open on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9am to 5.30pm.
The nearest alternatives are in Market Place, Diss, for a full counter service, or in Low Street, Hoxne, for a restricted service.
It had been closed since May 7 after Pauline Seeley, wife of subpostmaster Tony, broke her leg in a fall at the start of May. Temporary subpostmaster Susan Wagstaff, from Great Yarmouth, who has worked as a Post Office cover for the past three years, said it had been a busy first day.
“Everybody has been coming in and saying how much they appreciate it opening again.
“We have got to attract people into the town and once you take away something like a Post Office or chemist you can start to see less people.”
A spokesperson for Post Office added: “We are pleased to be able to reinstate the service as a temporary measure while we continue to seek a permanent solution. The new service will be initially operating on Wednesday and Fridays only, however, we are looking to increase the service provision in the future.”
