People in South Norfolk suffering with chronic pain symptoms have access to a new way to manage their condition.
A pilot commissioned by NHS South Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group will teach mindfulness techniques as a means of managing chronic pain.
Mindfulness techniques are potentially useful for patients who suffer chronic pain or emotional distress, and has been recognised as a form of NHS treatment by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) since 2006.
A number of Mindfulness courses have been set up across South Norfolk and are currently accepting patient referrals.
There are at Diss on four successive Tuesdays, June 17, 24 and July 1 and 8, 3-5pm. They are also in Wymondham and Thetford on four successive Thursdays, June 19, 26 and July 3 and 10. The Wymondham sessions are 11am-1pm and Thetford sessions are 3-5pm.
