Youngsters in Harleston got their hands dirty yesterday as they took part in a summer roadshow on the recreation ground.
Children got the chance to play with cornflour gloop, shaving foam, paints and doughs as well as taking part in running races, sack races and an egg and spoon race.
The roadshow was run by Harleston Children’s Centre which provides a range of activities and services for pre-school children and parents including stay and play sessions, child health clinics, baby massage, parenting courses and links to employment, education and training.
The centre is funded by Norfolk County Council and run by Action for Children from its base at Harleston Primary School.
Martin Wilby, county councillor for Harleston, said: “This event will hopefully encourage more parents and carers to get involved with their local children’s centre and take advantage of the many services on offer.
“The children’s centre is a valuable part of the community – providing a services and activities to suit everyone.”
