The seven new reception pupils at Palgrave Primary School have settled well into school life with a little help from their older classmates who have been “good role models”, reception teacher Pauline James said.

Last term, the children worked on an animals topic and this term they are looking at houses and homes, which will involve taking photos of their own homes and writing up details for their estate agents role play corner.

They also enjoyed taking part in the school’s Nativity play at Christmas and some of them went to the local Swans Nursery to sing carols to younger children. Mrs James is helped in the reception class by teaching assistant Lisa Davey.
