Old Buckenham man pleads guilty to string of driving offences after Norwich crash

A drink-driver involved in a crash in Norwich’s clubland which left a taxi driver injured has admitted to a string of motoring offences.

James Berryman, 21, of St Andrew’s Close, Old Buckenham, was involved in the incident which happened at about 1.45am on March 1 in Prince of Wales Road.

Four vehicles were damaged during the incident, including two taxis and a police car, and a taxi driver, who was sitting in his vehicle when at the time of the incident, suffered minor injuries.

He appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Monday and pleaded guilty to driving without insurance, dangerous driving, drink-driving, aggravated vehicle-taking, and driving without a valid licence.

A sixth charge, of failing to stop a vehicle when required to by police was withdrawn.

He will appear at Norwich Crown Court at a date to be decided for sentencing.
