The funeral service was held at SS Peter and Paul’s Church on June 9 for Peggy Lily Jarvis of Elizabeth Court, Eye who died suddenly at the age of 84.

Father Chris Davidson officiated and Peter Lee was organist. Mrs Jarvis was the widow of the late Alan Jarvis who died in May 2013. The couple met at the age of 14 and had been married for 62 years. There are three daughters, twins Shirley and Suzanne, and Sharon, seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

In a tribute on behalf of the family, Fr Chris said Peggy had been a hard working lady who enjoyed catering, organising parties, singing and dancing. She had also raised a considerable amount of money for Cancer Research by holding sales and competitions. She had been a resident at the sheltered accommodation at Elizabeth Court for about seven years.
