Norfolk residents urged to do something adventurous for charity

A cancer charity has launched a programme of events and challenges for 2013 to help Norfolk residents get in shape while raising vital funds.

Whether you want to improve your fitness, have fun or get outdoors more, Marie Curie Cancer Care has come up with something for everyone, with a whole host of events taking place in and around Norfolk.

These include the Grand East Anglian 10k in May and the Norwich 100/50/25 Cycle in June, which Marie Curie Cancer Care will support is its fundraisers with.

And for those looking for an overseas challenge, why not tackle eating chicken’s feet and camping under the stars while trekking the 15th Century Ming Dynasty, Great Wall of China on a nine-day trip.

David Hedges, regional events fundraiser, said: “New Year’s resolutions often fall by the wayside before January is over, but Marie Curie Cancer Care has events and challenges throughout the year to help you stick to, and achieve, your aims for 2013.

“So why not take up a challenge, fulfil your ambitions and help raise vital valuable funds for Marie Curie nurses, who provide free care to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own homes.”
