The High Sheriff of Suffolk has launched the sixth High Sheriff’s Awards for 2014 and is calling for voluntary groups and individuals to make nominations.

These are designed to showcase and recognise the vibrant volunteering culture that is alive in Suffolk and hopefully inspire others, making Suffolk a better, safer county to live in.

The awards categories are Suffolk Volunteer of the Year, Suffolk Under 25 Volunteer of the Year, Suffolk Lifetime Achievement Award, Suffolk Youth Community Group or Organisation of the Year and Suffolk Community Partnership of the Year.

In addition to the awards the High Sheriff’s Fund is offering grants of up to £1,500 to support work with young people aged eight to 25 years, that improves their communities and lives.

The closing date for both award nominations and grant applications is December 16 2013.
