New recycling scheme launched in Suffolk
A plastics recycling scheme called Plastics - Know Your Place! was launched in Suffolk today.
In a bid to reduce confusion about which plastics can be recycled and where, Suffolk County Council has been working with its partners to produce an entertaining and informative campaign, using a 1950s theme to communicate a modern day message.
Currently, more than 9,000 tonnes of plastic is thrown into landfill, costing the taxpayer in excess of £800,000 in disposal charges.
The campaign aims to capture the potential recyclables that get discarded every year.
