Mum finds woman who saved her son - thanks to Express
A grateful mother has tracked down the brave woman who plucked her young son from the freezing waters of Diss Mere - thanks to help from the Diss Express.
Last week we told how Katherine Prenton, from east London, wanted to find the woman - believed to be from Hoxne - who jumped into the Mere when her son, seven-year-old Noah, slipped in.
Now Kelly, a friend of the woman, has contacted Mrs Prenton, whose telephone number we published, to say that the saviour was Katie Thomson. Kelly also handed on her address.
Katie will be rewarded with a bunch of flowers from Mrs Prenton - who thanked the Express for its help too.
The Prentons had come to Norfolk to visit a friend who now lives in Palgrave.
They went to the Mere to feed the ducks, but when other children went to play in the park, Noah and another child stayed behind.
Soon afterwards, Noah, who cannot swim, fell up to his chest into the water. Katie, though, jumped in to save him. As she was wet and cold, she went home hastily afterwards to get dry clothes - before Mrs Prenton could thank her.
