Work to complete a five-a-side pitch and a regulation-size basketball court in Diss Park is set to be completed by Christmas. The multi-use games area, which is costing about £65,000 raised from section 106 money, is located near the outdoor gym equipment and shelter which allows music to be played through speakers via bluetooth.
Children from Diss High School were surveyed, with a sports pitch the overwhelming choice of many.
Deputy mayor Keith Kiddie said: “We did a lot of survey to get this. When you are spending that sort of money you want to get something people actually want. I am hoping this will be as popular as other parts of the MUGA. “
