Police in Diss hoping to set up a Community Speed Watch (CSW) to tackle the danger of speeding motorists are calling for more volunteers after good initial interest.
Volunteers will be trained to use a speed gun to increase roadside checks and highlight speeding in the area.
Motorists caught speeding are sent a letter advising them they have been caught and of the consequences. PCSO Aslaug Foreman said: “Speeding is regularly raised as a concern by the residents of Diss and the additional presence of Community Speed Watch volunteers at the roadside has a proven effect in other areas on getting drivers to slow down. “
