A wide variety of activities, stalls and entertainment is on offer when the Mendlesham Community Council Fayre returns on Monday.

Taking place in Old Market Street between 12pm and 5pm, will host children’s entertainer Tricky Twister, the East Suffolk Morris Men, the Harbout Lights Folk Band, as well as others. In addition, there will be a hog roast, bouncy castle, a grand draw and refreshments. Gates open at 10:30am, while admission is £2.50.

The fayre is due to kick off at 11.30am with the Harbour Lights Folk Band. A procession is due to leave the playing field at noon, led by May Princess Izzy Farrel, her attendants Milly Gant and Megan Shave, and accompanied by St Mary’s Church May Queen and the Ipswich Band Brigade. At 12.30pm the Samboomba band is set to perform, before a range of other events take place throughout the day, culminating in the Grand Draw at 5pm. A craft show will be running in the community centre between 11am and 4.30pm, and the community 50/50 Shop with clothes and books will be open from 12pm.

Next to the Old School Room in Old Market Street, visitors can see Bygone Farm Vehicles and Rex Garrod, of Robot Wars fame. St Mary’s Church will also be open, allowing guests to see its unique armoury. Refreshments will be on offer here, while disabled toilet facilities are also available.
