Marathon man Tom Bobbins has successfully completed his challenge for charity - running four events across Europe in just five weeks, and raising more than £5,000 in the process.
The Heywood Sports and Leisure Club Owner ran in Paris, Rome and London, and completed his haul in Madrid at the weekend, with a time of 3 hours and 59 minutes.
He admits he underestimated the toll his challenge could take on his body - completing the Paris marathon despite suffering tendinitis in his left ankle, and an Achilles strain on his right foot
“It has been great,” he said. “There has been more than 150 people who have donated, with some considerable amounts, so I am chuffed really.
“I am pretty pleased I can now relax and be able to get back to normal.”
The money raised will be donated to Cancer Research UK and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
