Officers from Norwich CID are appealing for witnesses after a man was threatened in Hempnall.

At around midday on Friday, the victim was walking along Field Lane when he was approached by a white Ford Focus. As the car got nearer a male passenger opened the window and threatened him with, what appeared to be, a bladed weapon.

DC Michael Blowers, Norwich CID, who is investigating the incident, asked witnesses for more information saying: “While this is a very unusual incident for this area we believe it to be isolated as the victim and the suspect are thought to be known to each other. We do not believe any other members of the public would have been at risk.”

Witnesses should contact DC Blowers on 101 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Two women, one aged in her 20s and one aged in her 50s, both from the Bungay area, have been arrested and bailed in connection with this incident.
