A man found dead at a house in Worlingworth had breathed in his own stomach contents, an inquest has heard.

The body of Patrick Wallace, 56, was discovered at an address in Church Road on April 14 of this year by a friend with whom he was staying.

Suffolk Coroner Dr Peter Dean, sitting at Bury St Edmunds on Friday, said emergency services had been called at 9am.

A paramedic declared Mr Wallace to be dead shortly afterwards.

Mr Wallace, of St Lawrence Court, De Beauvoir Estate, Hackney, was formally identified by a friend.

A post mortem examination showed that death had been due to aspiration of gastric contents exacerbated by methadone and ethanol.

Dr Dean adjourned the inquest on Mr Wallace until further enquiries have been completed.
