The Lophams Farmers’ Market, held in the village hall on the fourth Saturday of every month, has clocked up 13 successful years.
Saturday’s anniversary event saw 17 vendors selling local quality produce with everything for the kitchen table.
Member of the organising team, Mike Shipperlee said the village hall committee was thrilled to have reached the 13th anniversary milestone with the market now regularly attracting 200 to 300 shopers each time. “It’s had its ups and downs but we seem to have turned a corner over the last six months. We always try to make it a pleasant shopping experience, and a social one too, and the quality of the food is really exceptional.”
Mr Shipperlee said the event had also raised about £40,000 for village hall funds over the years. To mark the occasion, there was a free draw for champagne and flowers.
