While I was driving along Park Road on Sunday evening, a ball from Diss Park’s “green metal monstrosity” came bouncing in front of me causing me to brake sharply.

Luckily there was no other traffic about at that time otherwise the consequences could have been very different.

Looking in my rear view mirror before driving on I saw a young lad run across the road to retrieve the ball.

Considering the size of Diss Park, may I ask, whatever possessed “the powers that be” to place this equipment right beside a very busy main road?

How long will it be before there is a serious incident and someone, either a motorist or a person retrieving a loose ball, will be injured?

After my experience, I fear it will be sooner rather than later.
