Awareness of the dangers of high blood pressure was raised in Diss at the weekend.

In the 11th year of the partnership between Rotary International in Great Britain and the Stroke Association, which is aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of high blood pressure, trained staff were on hand to take blood pressures, who also advised visits to GPs if necessary outside the United Reformed Church. It was part of a nation-wide campaign.

According to the Stoke Association, high blood pressure is the single biggest risk factor, causing about 50 per cent of strokes due to blockage. For more information visit www.stroke.org.uk
