Information event for people aged over 55 in Harleston
An event to help people aged over 55 find out about activities, pensions and services will be held in Harleston on March 25.
Harleston Information Plus (HIP) is working in partnership with more than 20 organisations to provide the free information event which will be held at The Swan Hotel in The Thoroughfare from 10am to 2pm.
Julie Helsby of HIP said: “This is part of our Reaching Communities Lottery project and allows us to bring representatives of useful organisations into the town to chat with local people. Quite often this information is now normally only available in Norwich or found online.”
Professionals will be on hand to give information and advice on home safety, energy saving, benefits and pensions, healthy lifestyles, leisure opportunities, dementia, local support for carers and practical equipment to aid independent living.
One of the organisations attending the event is the new Red Cross South Norfolk Older Peoples Outreach service, which launched in January.
Refreshments will be available and all are welcome to attend.
