This week, local volunteers have hand delivered a survey form to every resident of Wortham and Burgate to find out what is really important in the local community.
Views are being sought on the future of housing development, what local amenities are important, environmental issues and good and bad points about the two villages, everyone is being given an opportunity to have a say in local issues.
The last survey of the parish of Wortham and Burgate took place in 2000, the results made a real difference to priorities, influencing issues such as affordable housing, litter picking, the children’s play area and village communication, but times have changed and so views will have changed, with new voices to be heard. The survey aims to ensure that all views are updated and take account of new developments in the parish and the changing external environment. The results of the survey will be published, acted on and, hopefully, will be of interest to other rural village communities.
