A Harleston mum has spoken of her pride after her son took part in a film project which premiered in London last month.

Sam Kuzmic attends a social club in Worcestershire, the Monday Night Club, formed in 2011, for adults with learning disabilities.

The club produced a film about ability, called The Monday Night Club Has Got Talent, which premiered at a glittering event at the Shaw Theatre, in the presence of Maria Miller, former Minister of State for Culture, Media and Sport and former Minister for Women and Equalities. South Norfolk MP Richard Bacon was also in attendance to support the event.

The 30-minute documentary is a story of a talent show, about and made by people with learning disabilities.

Sam’s mum, Sue, told the Diss Express: “I would love to see some funding for similar clubs all over the country, Sam has gained in confidence and expresses himself through writing - he is holding one of his books in the picture.

“We are so proud of him, he seems to have made lots of new friends at the club it is a very special and important part of their lives.”
