The retained fire crew at East Harling will always be popular as far as one little boy is concerned.
It was the day before Luke Bird celebrated his fourth birthday and the crew went out of their way to help his mum Emma Coles arrange a party with a difference.
“He is love with Fireman Sam,” said Emma.
“This shows our local firemen will go that extra mile for the community.”
She was grateful to sub officer Peter Edwards and retained fire staff for allowing her to stage the party for Luke.
He and a small group of friends enjoyed cake, and wore their own fire hats for the party when the crew had a fire engine on show.
They originally lived in East Harling but now their home is at Banham.
