Cat charity Feline Care has again been chosen as local charity of the year by the Original Factory Shop in Diss.

The charity, which was founded in 1997 and is based in East Harling, recently opened a new shop on Market Place, Diss.

Leanne Pearce, who works at the Original Factory Shop in Diss and was involved in choosing this year’s charity, said: “It’s nice to support a small local charity, and they were so grateful for our help. One of our girls (from the store) fostered a cat and the charity was great.

“A lot of people go for dog charities, so it makes a nice change to support cats.”

The store also supported Feline Care last year, raising £300 through collection boxes, raffles, and selling reusable bags.

While ‘local charity of the year’ is not strictly official, the Original Factory Shop also picks a company-wide charity of the year, which this year is Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Feline Care works to look after unwanted cats and to find them a loving home.
