With exciting lots to bid for which include a personal performance by the Waveney Choir at a special occasion of your choice, Diss Town Mayor Neil Howard is hoping his Auction of Promises will bring in lots of cash for his charities.
The auction takes place on March 8, 7pm, at Diss Corn Hall with auctioneer Mike Sarson from TW Gaze at the rostrum. Proceeds from the sale will go to the Mayor’s chosen charities for his year in office - Diss First Responders and the Quidenham branch of East Anglian Children’s Hospices.
The auction is expected to be a fun evening with entrance tickets costing £5, to include a glass of wine and table snacks. There will be a licensed bar and comedy magician Jake Ace will provide entertainment during the interval.
Mr Howard said: “We have already received a number of fantastic items with the help of local businesses and residents.
Tickets for table or individual bookings are available from Diss Town Council offices on 01379 643848 or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Auction lots so far confirmed include four day passes to BeWILDerwood, a tour for one of St George’s Distillery, afternoon tea for four with the Mayor of Ipswich in the Mayor’s Parlour at Ipswich Town Hall, and a family admission ticket to Holkham Hall.
The performance by the Waveney Choir at a special occasion such as a wedding has been offered by choirmaster Ian Elliott, while Richard Bacon MP is offering a tour for two of the Palace of Westminster. Also up for grabs is a family ticket to Diss Corn Hall for a year, a year’s free membership to South Norfolk Council’s leisure centre and lunch in the Officer’s Mess of the Royal Fusiliers in the Tower of London.
