A motorist and infant escaped serious injury after their car ended up in a ditch on the B1116 near Framlingham yesterday.

Fire crews from Framlingham, Stradbroke and Debenham attended the incident, involving one vehicle, which happened at around 1.15pm.

They arrived to find a Nissan Micra in a ditch.

The motorist and an infant from the car were already outside the vehicle when the emergency services arrived, and were said to be shaken but not badly hurt, according to a Suffolk Fire and Rescue spokesperson.

The road was closed for about 45 minutes from 2.30pm while the car was recovered.
