A well-known Eye man celebrated his birthday with hundreds of residents on Saturday.
Organised by Handyman owner Bruce Salter, more than 200 people stopped by the tea and cake stall outside the shop throughout the day to wish Ollie Green, who turned 60 last Friday, a happy birthday. Mr Green was told the marquee set up outside the store was to raise money for the local football team.
A white limo whisked him home, before further celebrations in the Queens Head, in Eye, and a meal prepared by Christine Howard.
Mr Green, who has worked at the shop for 30 years, said: “I had the surprise of my life. It was like a dream come true.”
