Diss commuters are experiencing the latest bout of major disruption to their regular railway services this morning after delays and cancellations were caused by overrun engineering works at Ipswich.

Travellers leaving from Diss train station have been instructed to delay their journey, with the line through Ipswich not currently expected to re-open until 10.30am at the earliest.

Anybody commuting from Norwich to London is advised to travel from Norwich via Ely and Cambridge to Liverpool Street or King’s Cross. Abellio Greater Anglia has confirmed that tickets for Norwich to London will be accepted on East Midlands and First Capital Connect rail services.

Problems caused by the late completion of the works have been further exacerbated by a signalling fault between Ipswich and Manningtree and a train breaking down between Colchester and Manningtree.
