Two workers at Morrisons supermarket in Diss are shaving their treasured locks for charity.

Ruth Harris-Orford decided in February to have her hair shaved off to raise funds.

After she announced it, colleague Carole Wain decided she would like to join her and have her hair shaved off as well.

It will be taking place next Saturday, March 29 at 1pm in the entrance foyer of Morrisons in Diss.

Mellis hairdresser Rachel Litttleboy will be doing the head shaves.

People can donate by going online to www.justgiving.com and search for ‘Ruth Harris-Orford’. There are two pages, one for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and one for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The charities are close to their hearts for family reasons and the event will also support Morrisons’ charity of the year, the Sue Ryder Foundation. Their aim is to raise more than £1,500.

Donations can also be made in-store at the customer services desk.

Park Radio will be doing an outside broadcast from the store on the day.
