Staff at the Morrisons supermarket in Diss completed a long static cycle ride for charity on Saturday to coincide with the beginning of this year’s Tour de France.
Store employee Ruth Harris-Orford, who recently took part in a sponsored head shave event as part of the Victoria Road grocer’s ongoing fundraising efforts, rode the bike in the store foyer for around four-and-a-half hours, during which she was periodically joined by other staff members, including Jason Yaxley, the shop’s representative in the London to Brighton Bike Ride in September.
The endeavour raised £303 on the day, with all proceeds going towards the Sue Ryder Foundation.
Thanks were given to the store customers for their generosity and to Heywood Sports Club, which provided the bikes.
Those who missed the fundraiser but who still wish to contribute towards the charity can give their donations in at the Morrisons customer service desk.
