Midwich worker Steph Cripps has raised over £1,500 as a result of having her hair shaved off for charity.

Along with Gemma Ralph, 28, the two have now raised over £6,000 for the Daisy Eye Fund, with fundraising still going.

“It was a really good day. Possibly one of the most emotional and hardest things I’ve done. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house, everyone understood why I was doing it,” said the 22-year-old.

“I couldn’t believe the turn out, it was fantastic.”

Since the event, Steph has received over a hundred messages showing their appreciation for the money she is raising for the charity and one of the mothers from a child at the charities centre in Kenya has knitted her a hat and she is excited to visit the centre in the coming months.

“I am massively excited. I get to meet Daisy and her mum in September and then on to Kenya. One of the mums from Kenya has sent me a hat for my bald head which is really nice of them.”

For now though, she will have to get used to the new look.

“It feels really strange. People keep telling me I look like Sinead O’Connor but I am not sure about that.”
