Diss commemorated 100 years since the start of the First World War with an event organised by the town’s museum on Sunday.

Titled Over The Top, it attracted a large crowd to the Market Place and featured music and dance, as well as a Spitfire flypast, and a reading by Herr Flick actor Richard Gibson as well as many other attractions, with more than 140 people visiting Diss Museum on the day.

Richard Gibson is pictured (centre) with Leslie and Alison Dumbell, who ran a stall where people could have their medical and join up by taking the King’s shilling.
