Delight at Durrants donation to hospital appeal

A local business has donated £5,000 to a Norwich and Norfolk University Hospitals NHS Trust (NNUH) appeal after a member of their staff was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Surveyors and estate agents Durrants, which has offices in Harleston and Diss, donated the money towards the NNUH’s Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal (TRA), hoping to raise £600,000 to create new facilities and equipment for cancer patients at the hospital.

Durrants auction house manager, Rebecca Mayhew was undergoing treatment for breast cancer at the NNUH when she heard about the appeal. She wanted to do something to say thank you for the treatment she has received so organised a valuation day and on-line auction as part of Durrant’s fundraising activities, raising a total of £5,000 for the TRA.

Durrants director Nick Durrant said: “ I am asking other local companies to get behind the appeal and give their support to make the goal of providing even better cancer care for local people a possibility.”
