Eye is now home to a Community Access Defibrillator as the East of England Co-op’s Every Minute Counts campaign continues to provide harder to reach communities with the potentially life-saving equipment.

The new unit is housed in a stainless steel cabinet on the front wall of the Fire Station in Lambseth Street.

Local residents have been shown how to use the equipment by the East of England Ambulance Service.

Chris Gibbs, Deputy District Commissioner, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, said: “It’s great news for local people that Eye now has its own defibrillator. We’re very pleased that our fire station is home to the new unit.”
