Centenary celebrations for Burston Strike on April 1

Among a host of events to mark 100 years since the famous Burston school strike on April 1; at lunchtime the children of Burston County Primary School will be recreating the march by the schoolchildren of 1914.

This will be followed by a small celebration on the village green at 2pm. Full details are on the strike school website: burstonstrikeschool.wordpress.com/

In the evening at Diss High School at 7pm will be the premier of a new play about the strike called ‘The Bricks of Burston’ by The Stuff of Dreams Theatre group. Contact Mike Copperwheat on (01379) 677211 for details.
