The completion of a Heritage Lottery-funded project in a Suffolk village was celebrated on Sunday.

Almost 70 Hoxne villagers gathered at St Edmund’s Village Hall after the Story of Hoxne project, led by the Hoxne Heritage Group and supported by Suffolk County Council Archaeology Services (SCCAS) and the University of East Anglia Ideas Bank was finished.

Jo Caruth, senior project officer and Richenda Goffin, finds expert, of the SCCAS were also on hand at the event. A large selection of analysed artefacts from the community dig were exhibited, while a short film of the community dig project was also shown, as well as photos taken throughout the project.
