Campaigners in a north Suffolk village are fighting to get their old postie back.
The ‘Bring Back Scott’ campaign has been launched by Wingfield resident, Peter Barfield, and has received support on its social media channels.
The postal delivery officer in question, Scott Davies, was moved to a new round in Roydon by the Royal Mail.
Mr Barfield, said: “People on this round do very much miss him, and really appreciated his personality and kindness. If there are any sort of awards for postpeople, he would be the perfect recipient; he was always a pleasure to see of a morning, always happy, and always went that extra mile.
“Once, he even brought round a package that another delivery company left outside a neighbour’s house in the rain; you just don’t get customer service like that anywhere nowadays, and I don’t think I have ever gotten a Christmas card from another postperson.
“It seems the old adage is true - you really don’t know what you have until it is gone.”
But, a Royal Mail spokesperson, said: “The delivery officers for the different rounds have been decided, and will not be changed for the foreseeable future. I apologise for any disappointment this may cause.”
