Pupils at St Botolph’s Primary School are set to benefit from a well-stocked library thanks to the fundraising efforts of a local foodstore.
Staff at the Rickinghall Co-operative store, now part of the newly-merged Anglia Co-operative and Midlands Co-operative, raised £432, which was then doubled by the Anglia Co-operative Community Fund, and a cheque for £864 was presented. It takes the total raised by the store for the school, in Botesdale, to £1,400.
Store manager Rosie Cole, said: “We chose St Botolph’s Primary School because of the community connection the store has with the school. The latest donation follows a funday at the store which enjoys a good relationship with the school.”
Mark Cobbold, headmaster of St Botolph’s, said: “The funds raised will go towards our library project. We aim to start work on the refurbishment early 2014, so that we can begin to stock the library in the second half of the spring term.”
