One of the most famous Bond girls, the glamorous Honor Blackman will be treading the boards in Diss Corn Hall on February 1.

Best remembered as Pussy Galore in the 1964 Bond movie Goldfinger, Honor has enjoyed a career spanning 60 years with a long list of film, theatre and television credits to her name, as well as a a singing career which included the surprise hit ‘Kinky Boots’ which charted at No.5 in 1990.

Now aged 88, her film career started in 1947 and she went on to star in a string of movies opposite actors such as Dirk Bogarde, Sean Connery and Dean Martin. She played the role of Hera in the 1963 iconic production of Jason and the Argonauts and has had small roles in more recent films such as Bridget Jones’s Diary.

She was cast as Pussy Galore by Bond film producer Albert R. Broccoli on the back of her success as Cathy Gale in The Avengers, and was the oldest actress ever to play a Bond girl

Her stage roles have included The Sound of Music, Nunsense, My Fair Lady, Cabaret and her own show Word of Honor, while she has made television appearances in Doctor Who, Casualty and Coronation Street, as well as the long-running and popular sitcom The Upper Hand.

For her appearance at the Corn Hall, she will be in conversation with her colleague and friend, the director Richard Digby Day.

The pair will be looking back over her life, revealing stories of her childhood, her film career and her rise to stardom, as well as sharing anecdotes concerning family, friends and colleagues – both funny and otherwise – all told with Honor’s renowned sense of humour and perspective.

Honor will also sing a few of her favourite songs.
